Having spent decades in the world of business, investments and financial markets, I have learnt that achieving success and finding fulfilment are two different things. We can spend years chasing the next opportunity, building wealth and reaching new milestones only to realise that there is more to life than what we accumulate or achieve.
My own journey with meditation has changed the way I look at things. Practicing daily has taught me the importance of looking within rather than constantly searching for answers outside myself.
We spend so much time searching outside ourselves for answers, whether from experts, books or the latest advice on how to become successful, yet rarely take the time to sit quietly and look within.
My meditation practice has taught me the value of giving the mind that space. When we are less caught up in the constant stream of thoughts and distractions, we often see things differently and become clearer about what we truly want from life.
I certainly do not claim to have everything figured out, but I have learnt that creating the life we want begins with understanding ourselves better. We spend so much time improving our external circumstances that perhaps we should pay a little more attention to our inner world as well.
For me, meditation is a good place to start. Sometimes, the answers we spend so much time searching for outside are already within us. We simply need to quiet the mind to recognize them.
