I just finished a conversation with some people in a meeting, and it reminded me why my team has always chosen a different path in building this business. I have noticed the growing number of new outfits entering this increasingly competitive industry, each trying to make their mark.
Well, we have never tried to outshout the mainstream players. While they field large sales teams with fancy marketing, we have chosen a quieter, more selective path.
Like choosing real friends, I have always been careful to work with the right people, those who share the same values and build trust over time. Along the way, we have even found ways to collaborate with competitors because every player has both strengths and weaknesses and it never hurts to know both.
This approach has allowed us to grow steadily, step by step, fueled by quality relationships rather than volume. I’m especially grateful for the new leads coming from long-standing clients, some of whom have been with me for more than 20 years.
Even though we may not see each other as often in person, technology has made it easier to stay connected and communicate more effectively. I have also learned a great deal from my clients, many of whom are incredibly smart and insightful people. Their trust, support, and wisdom mean a lot to me.
Now, with new partners joining us, we are ready to step up the game, expanding our reach, exploring fresh opportunities, and building on a foundation of trust that has stood the test of time. The best part? We are only getting started.
